Policies & Compliance

Linda Bryant School (Florida)

The Linda Bryant School (LBS) is committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, ethical, and legally compliant learning environment for all students, families, staff, and community members. The following policies outline our compliance with applicable federal and Florida laws and regulations.

Student Privacy (FERPA & Florida Law)

LBS complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and applicable Florida statutes governing student records. Parents and eligible students have the right to inspect and review education records, request corrections, and control disclosure of personally identifiable information, except as permitted by law. Student records are maintained securely and accessed only by authorized personnel.

HIPAA & Health Information

As an educational institution, LBS primarily operates under FERPA rather than HIPAA. In limited situations where health-related information is collected to support student safety or services, such information is handled confidentially and safeguarded in accordance with applicable federal and Florida privacy standards. Access is restricted to authorized staff on a need-to-know basis.

Title IX (Sex-Based Discrimination)

LBS complies with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Florida civil rights laws. The school does not discriminate on the basis of sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, or parental status in its educational programs, admissions, or employment. This includes protections against sexual harassment and sexual misconduct. Concerns may be reported to the school’s designated Title IX Coordinator.

Equal Opportunity & Non-Discrimination (EEOC & Florida Law)

LBS is an Equal Opportunity Employer and educational institution. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected under federal or Florida law.

Anti-Bullying & Harassment (Florida Jeffrey Johnston Act)

In compliance with Florida’s Jeffrey Johnston Stand Up for All Students Act, LBS maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, intimidation, and retaliation. This policy applies to all students, staff, and school-related activities, including online environments.

Mandatory Reporting (Florida Law)

All LBS personnel are mandatory reporters under Florida law and are required to report suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect to the Florida Abuse Hotline immediately.

Accessibility Statement

LBS is committed to accessibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Florida accessibility standards. We strive to ensure equal access to programs, services, and digital content.

Non-Discrimination in Admissions

LBS admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, programs, and activities generally accorded to students at the school, in compliance with Florida law.
